Scholar Channel is a web based media network that allows individuals and institutions relating to academia the opportunity to share their activities with their peers and the wider world and also learn about each other through the power of online media. It also gives those outside of academia an insight into academic life.

The Scholar Channel is not a service restricted to major institutions, nor is it intended to be the sole domain of the student. It is intended to be an open platform that shows a balanced view of all those associated with academia including academics, researchers, lecturers, institutions as well as students. It is intended that this open platform will allow those with an interest in the academic world to get a broad view of life in academia.

The videos on the channel are neatly organised so that videos coming directly from our official partners such as institutions and societies are kept separate from videos from non partners. Partners are trusted to moderate videos themselves and will only submit videos on to the site that they feel are suitable to represent themselves. Non-partner videos are from other sources such as students and are uploaded independently. They may not necessarily represent life directly within an institution but may have reference to student life outside of an institution. The Scholar Channel does have a policy to moderate these videos also, to ensure that they are suitable for decent viewing.

The Scholar Channel News service is a news network that is focussed on sharing the latest news from the world of academia.
